Due to its impervious nature, porcelain is ideally suited for swimming pools, saunas and other wetroom environments. As many collections include tiles with an anti-slip rating (PTV36+/R10-R13), the same collection, and often the same format, can be used throughout a space creating seamless transitions from internal to external areas, including pools and beyond.
In the image above, the Industrial collection from Florim has been used in the 120x240cm 6mm large format. The minimalist design of the space, using a few well chosen materials in a variety of ways, elevates the pool area to being a key design element of the whole project.
With swimming pools and other wet areas, adequate waterproofing is essential. Therefore, PietraCasa recommend using Schluter wetroom systems, which include products such as the Schluter KERDI waterproof membrane that provides complete protection for the substrate below the tiling. Schluter’s large catalogue of products enable a complete waterproof solution, thereby eliminating the risk created from using multiple systems.
